A brief description of Parn's background and the Record of Lodoss War timeline.
(Parn's involvement take place between NRC 508 up to his canon point NRC 512)

During the Grey Witch arc, Beld, the leader of Marmo, begins to conquer Lodoss in order to unite it. Fahn, the leader of Valis, also wishes to unite Lodoss but in a different manner. The Grey Witch's role plays an important one as she is the one who influences the moves on both sides by continually tipping the balance. Karla, the Grey Witch, believes that if she does not keep Lodoss in a warring state it will repeat history and fall to ruins again.

She originated from an ancient kingdom 500 years ago from Parn's time. The kingdom was filled with sorcerers who became too dependent on their sorcery to a level where they needed an enormous Holy Place to store all of the power. She stated they installed balls on their foreheads to draw from that very power. At the beginning, it was a prosperous kingdom that lasted for fifty years. Even the spirit world was under their control and they had dragons for slaves. However, the Millennial kingdom was heavily dependent on the Holy Place. Hundreds of sorcerers attempted supreme sorcery and failed. The kingdom quickly began to deteriorate afterward. The kingdom lost stability and fell to the ground, and without sorcery, they were vulnerable. Savages began to invade the kingdom and there was no way to defend it. In less than five years the civilization was wiped out.

Her desire is to prevent Lodoss from depending on one power like the ancient kingdom, and for 500 years she has allegedly been tampering with history to bend to the fate's will that she has been influencing to keep the powers divided. Parn disagrees with her reasoning and believes things should happen naturally. Before the gang could take action against her she takes her leave.

The next event to occur is the war between Marmo and Valis with their allies against Marmo. The fight between the two heroes occur and Beld, leader of Marmo stands victorious. This victory was short lived before Karla had once again interfered and assassinated Beld shortly after his victory. Knowing she could not escape fate; she awaited for Parn and his party some time after. Because Karla is technically over 500 years old, she is no longer human, but a soul that possesses a circlet who can transfer from person to person transcending the restriction of time. She currently possesses a priestess of Marfa (Leylia) whom one of the party members wishes to save. They are successful in saving Leylia. However, another member (the thief) wanted to make up for time lost he spent in a cell for petty thief. Once he obtained the circlet, Karla took control of his being and took off. The group parted ways and Parn made it his mission to take out Karla once and for all, Deedlit chose to join him.

The Demon of Flame arc takes place two years after the Grey Witch which centered around the war between the two heroes. Parn has taken it upon himself to seek out Karla and stop her interference with history. Her influence still spreads here as she is the one who directed the Fire Clan to attempt to reseize Flame using Azuma the priest and Nardia (a female warrior.) The Flame nation was referred to as the Wind Clan, both had thrived in Flame before the Fire Clan was driven out. Karla also freed Efreet, the fire spirit allowing the Fire Clan to have the edge.

Kashue, the leader of Flame, resorted to a war against the Fire Clan but was wildly unsuccessful because of the opposing forces' advantage. Kashue was forced to fall back to Blade, their captiol, and Parn was taken hostage. Deedlit, and some mercenaries hired by Kashue went on a rescue mission for Parn. While Parn was in enemy terriory, he learns a little of the Fire Clan through Nardia. She was going to let him go figuring he was a Holy Knight of Valis (which he no longer is) and instead of taking advantage of her kindness, he told her the truth of not being a Holy Knight. She was confused by his honesty. Later the same night he encounter Azumo, where he was able to suspect that Karla was behind all of this. His influence coming from that of Karla. Before Azumo could kill Parn, Deedlit and the mercenaries were successful in rescuing him. Kashue and Deedlit (mostly Deedlit) formed a new covenant with Jin (the wind spirit) which nullified the old one, no longer making Efreet an enemy of theirs and relinquished the Fire Clan's dependency on him. Nardia took her life with his remaining flames and was born anew as a phoenix (said to be seen only once every 500 years.)

Rather than seeking Karla directly now, Parn decided that it's better to cease the warring between nations so that Karla will have nothing left to do and her influence will have no where to spread.

- ★ PERSONALITY:
Parn's most notable trait is his righteousness. Whatever Parn does he does for the great good. One example of this is when goblins were going about in the daylight reeking havoc on nearby villagers. Of his own volition, with Etoh (a Pharis cleric) to the goblins domain handle the problem. Another example is when he saw a woman being ganged up on by a bunch of men, without second thought he went to her rescue. He said so himself that: "I'll listen, but I only draw my sword in pursuit of righteousness!" The group had caught up to group of former Holy Knights and (possible) mercenary/thieves that laid waste after a hefty battle that cost them lives (save for one.) Parn suggested that they bury the bodies. When King Fahn was in a tight spot and wondering how he was going to seek Wort, one of the six heroes. Parn volunteered his services because he was a mere mercenary and able to do so without letting Valis sacrifice any men for the job.

When it comes down to it, Parn is a kind person. He helps people whether they be good, and in some cases, bad. After being confined by The Grey Witch, the group managed to break free and save the Princess of Valis who was next door. He helped slay goblins so they would stop terrorizing the villages. Parn has never willingly hurt somebody, and will choose to reason with them when possible. He will resort to violence if necessary and has no desire to die before his time.
Regarding terms of "bad" is a little more of a slippery slope, however, Deedlit pointed out when Parn was upset that The Grey Witch incinerated her own men. She wondered why Parn was getting angry over her men who might have turned out to be their enemies. He was willing to put his life on the line for something that isn't even his
He puts others before himself and is always out to protect people to defend them when they are in trouble. Parn is incapable of idly standing by while there is danger. He's the kind of guy who puts others needs before his own and will follow up with them if they are struggling. When the fight between the Fire Clan and Wind Clan Flame started, it was their side that began to lose. In order to protect everyone else, Parn called for a retreat and a radeavous point, saying that if it's fated, they would all meet in Blade. Rather than retreating with them, Parn darted straight into enemy lines. He was more or less a decoy even though he claimed he wasn't.

Parn is somewhat reckless and emotional, and he hasn't fully matured into his full potential. More often than not, Parn is the first to jump into the fray without giving it a second thought. Usually he is refrained by his party who insist otherwise or advise him it's not wise to do so. He gets frustrated and reckless when is unable to preform what it is he wants to do. Woodchuck (the party's thief,) commented: "Even if we try to stop you, you'll follow them anyway right?" Followed by Etoh's: "That's how he is." Parn's impulsive behavior tends to get him into trouble, like with the goblins, had Ghim (the Dwarf) not hear them nearby and check to see what's going on, Parn would have likely have died from the poison wound he received from a goblin. When the group went about their separate ways after freeing Leylia of the Grey Witch, Deedlit insisted on traveling with him.

He is a mercenary, meaning he has no ties to any one country. He was temporarily a Valisian knight after proving his worth with King Fahn. King Fahn even mentioned he'd rather go on a solitary mission than fight an honorable war. Making him much like his father, Tessius. He's known for being an adventure at heart. After the fall of the two heroes, Parn resigned his title as a Holy Knight. His reasoning to Deedlit about her following him was: "Are you sure you wanna come with me? I'm the kind of man who gives up his knighthood to pursue a witch."

Parn has a strong fondness for King Kashue, the leader of Flame. It was Kashue who took Parn under his wing temporarily and improved him as a knight. Parn sees him as a mentor and a respectable individual who cares for all his men and people. Deedlit mentioned that whenever Parn speaks of Kashue, he falls into some kind of trance (like he's fawning over the guy.)

Parn has a type of charisma about him that attracts people. Deedlit mentions that people around him are drawn to him. He himself isn't aware of this, and was even surprised about how many people were worried about him when he was a hostage to the enemy. Schood, a fellow mercenary claimed he only went along because he was paid, but really Parn had dragged him along because Schood liked Parn. Several others like Marsh, their axeman, always wanted to be around him and have sake with him. Parn just has this aura that people are attracted to making them want to be around him. Deedlit described it as "something" likely making something on a chemistry level where he gets along well with just about everyone.

He's a bit sexist when it comes to females, but in a chivalrous manner. Though this is more of a culture thing, where most men treat women like ladies, like opening doors for them, and assisting them. It only became a problem with Deedlit because with elves there is only equality between men and women. Not to say Parn won't fight a women, he has attacked Karla and Nardia (The Flame Clan leader.) Both events called for the necessary action.

- ★ COURT ALLIANCE: Seelie
Parn is compassionate of those around him, and abides by the rules that are set. Seldom does he stray from these unless absolutely necessary. His selflessness allows him to help others without the need of a reward in return so long as the person he's aiding comes out of under positive light.

- ★ ABILITIES:
Quick & Nimble: While Parn does not possess any extraordinary agility, being that he is a human (with no magical knowledge) he relies on sheer physical skill alone. Deedlit even mentioned how light on his feet he was even with his armor, and that for a human he moves well.

Trained Mercenary: Prior to formal training with King Kashue, Parn was already skilled with a sword and familiar on the battlefield. After formal training, his skill increased considerably, making him a formidable opponent in a dual and in battle.

Tolderance For Heat: Parn spent most of his mercenary days in Flame, the country known for its brutal desert. Due to all of his battles there, he has high tolerance in heat.

- ★ NETWORK SAMPLE:

[Parn still wasn't quite use to being able to speak to others via network, but he couldn't deny it was convenient.]

Is it possible that your friends can end up in the opposing alliance? That means we would have to fight them to take their gemstone.

[He didn't mind helping, but he could never kill his friend just because they ended up in a different alliance.]

They don't expect that of us, do they? Wars aren't the answer to everything.

[There could have been an alternative they could turn to. Things like Peace Treaties existed for a reason.]

I won't mindlessly slaughter people who could be innocent just because I'm told they're the enemy and we need their gemstone.

- ★ LOG SAMPLE:

Parn wasn't aware that he bared such an important necessity for his alleged alliance. The knight wasn't even aware there were more worlds of this nature. Nothing here was familiar to him, and while he could never turn down someone in need, he was finding it hard to absorb all of this new information that had little relevance to what he was currently involved with. He still had conflicts in his own world to resolve, and this new one that was similar in nature did not help. It also brought the question of whether or not these were the dominant nations on this continent and if there were more he should be aware of.

"I wonder if others from Lodoss are here."

Surely he couldn't have been the only one. After all, Lodoss has many warriors, priests, sorcerers and what have you. He was but a mere mercenary who had just begun his journey. King Kashue, an even greater warrior, would have been a valuable asset to either side of the war. Parn wanted to go searching for his friends, but obtaining the information for the situation at hand outweighed the priority of seeking people familiar to him.

"Then we can all go home."

So they could go about their business like they were before they came to Allaidh Darach. Now that Parn was certain with what to do, he could make his decisions with confidence. He would, however, like to know the history and how this all started. Wars don't just happen, there had to be a reason. Whether it be a conquering mission, or an elimination of evil much like Marmo.
